Confidential Confidential Dade City, FL Dade City, FL Full-time Full-time $45,000 - $55,000 a year $45,000 - $55,000 a year Job Responsibilities Review and understand project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents; Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information; Analyze project requirements and break down the scope of work into specific tasks; Estimate material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs based on historical data, industry standards, and current market conditions; Utilize construction estimating software and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency; Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from construction drawings to determine the amount of materials required for each project component; Verify and validate takeoff quantities with project stakeholders; Obtain quotes and pricing from suppliers and subcontractors; Evaluate vendor and subcontractor bids to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project specifications; Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable pricing and terms; Collaborate with procurement teams to establish cost-effective agreements; Prepare comprehensive and accurate cost estimates, including a breakdown of costs for labor, materials, equipment, overhead, and profit margins; Develop detailed project budgets for review by senior management and clients; Identify potential risks and uncertainties that may impact project costs; Develop contingency plans and risk mitigation strategies; Maintain accurate and organized documentation of cost estimates, quotes, and relevant correspondence; Update and revise estimates as project details evolve; Present cost estimates to internal teams, clients, and other stakeholders; Address inquiries and provide clarification on cost-related matters; Stay informed about industry trends, construction methods, and market conditions; Continuously seek opportunities to improve estimating processes and methodologies; Perform other required tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field; Experience in civil earthwork, transmission lines and land clearing field preferred; Proven experience as a Construction Estimator; Experience in P6, Oman-ProEstimate, Microsoft Projects, or similar Construction Estimating package is a plus; Strong analytical and mathematical skills; Excellent communication and negotiation skills; Attention to detail and accuracy; Knowledge of local building codes and regulations; Ability to work in a collaborative team environment; must be able to work weekends if workload requires.
