This position is a combination of advanced administrative/customer service duties which will include working in the field as a Code Enforcement Officer.
Scheduled work hours are Monday through Friday 8:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
? Assists the general public with questions regarding the Building Code Law and its Compliance and respond to a wide variety of calls and complaints involving municipal violations of law.
? Assists in preparation of stop work orders for unsafe construction conditions and unpermitted work in structures as directed by the Code Enforcement Officer.
? Records and maintains inspections conducted by Code Enforcement Officer, to ensure their conformity and compliance with municipal codes.
? May conduct investigation of source, origin and circumstances of irregularities to ensure code compliance ? Conducts research to develop data and information, as requested.
? Assists in investigation of complaints and in prosecuting violations of the building code and zoning ordinances.
? Prepares periodic reports and keeps related records.
? Prepares Agenda and all required documentation for the Special Magistrate Hearings, prepares and submits pertinent Hearing Notices and provides report to the Community & Economic Development Director of all findings for review and follow up instructions.
? Inputs, accesses, retrieves information from iWorQ and the municipal shared drive to document, inform or follow up on code cases.
? Adheres to departmental expectations, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
? Performs other duties as requested by the Department Head or Community & Economic Development Director.
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES ? Ability to acquire knowledge of the Code of Ordinances of the City, inspections and compliance procedures; ? Ability to acquire knowledge of the Department's rules, regulations, policies and procedures as well as relevant training programs and content; ? Ability to acquire knowledge of the physical and social characteristics of the City; ? Ability to communicate, understand and carry out moderately complex oral and written instructions; ? Ability to assist in the enforcement of ordinances with firmness, tact and impartiality and to deal courteously with the general public; ? Ability to understand, keep records and make reports from such records; ? Ability to input, access, and retrieve data from available resources; ? Ability to communicate both orally and in writing with co-workers and the public; ? Ability to assist the Code Enforcement Officer with case presentations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school graduate or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma with (1) ONE YEAR experience in Code Enforcement.
CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED Valid Florida Driver's License Code Enforcement Certification (Level I) attained or acquired during first (6) months of employment.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
